First off let me say that I consider myself to be a pretty shy person when it comes to my body. The issue that I am having is that my twin boys are 5 weeks old and I am starting to become restless staying at home all day. I would love to leave the house for an outing or two, but I am a little nervous about breastfeeding in public. The boys tandem feed so when its that time, I basically am completely topless to get them latched on and started.
Let me say that I am very proud of the fact that I actually able to BF my babies, but not so much about showing the girls off in public
I do have a cover, but it doesn't cover ENOUGH when they are both on and each of them feeds for 30 min a piece so I would really like to avoid feeding them one at a time.
Any suggestions you have for how you fed your kids in public while still being a little private about the boobs would be greatly appreciated!!
Re: Tandem breastfeeding in public :/
I always got out of the house in between nursings, because I could never figure this one out. I would get everything ready to go before starting nursing, so that we could leave as soon as they were done. It was hard in the beginning with their growth spurts, but once they were on a regular 3-hour nursing interval, it was more manageable to get out of the house and back before anyone got hungry.
I always fed one at a time when in public, but mine didn't eat that long. Could you use two covers (kind of one over one baby?)
Maybe you could pump one side before you go and give a bottle to one while BFing the other.
Dressing room?
I tandem feed for every feeding at home but in public I feed one at a time.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Dressing rooms!! They were a lifesaver for me with my singleton pregnancy, and I guarantee they'll be a HUGE lifesafer for me now with a toddler and twins! No one cares that you're using the dressing room just to nurse. I never once had an issue with it--just go tell the woman at the dressing room check in that you need some privacy for the baby. I can't even tell you the number of times I nursed my son in Target's dressing room.
You do not want to nurse in a public restroom, or in a car either if you're a very private person (people can still see you in the car so you still have to cover up, and I so often would try to park a long way away from the store, and inevitably someone would pull in right next to me so I'd have to hurry and cover up).
