his highchair and use a booster instead?
a toddler bed? (we will use his crib until we possibly can't any longer but then it converts to toddler bed...just trying to figure out when kids are usually ready for a twin)
TIA -- I know this can vary but just wanting to get an idea
Re: When would LO#1 stop using:
DS started using a booster seat a week and a half ago, so before he was 26 months old. He could still use the high-chair but we wanted to transition him out well in advance of DD needing it. He loves sitting at the table with us.
He also transitioned from a crib to a twin bed at 23 months. He never used his toddler bed since we needed the crib for DD. He also moved to a new room/new furniture and never had an issue with it.
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

We never used highchairs. DS1 and later ds2 was in the booster seat from 6 months old on. Both quit using the booster seat at home around 17-18 months old. They also quit using highcharis at restaurants around that time.
We never used a toddler bed with either. DS1 went into a twin bed at 13.5mths and DS2 went into a twin bed at 17mths.
Both of my kids moved into the booster seats around 18 months old...but they could have moved sooner if I needed them to.
As for the beds - my DS just moved out of his crib a week before he turned 3 right into a twin bed. He never climbed out until then, and it just was easier for me to have him contained. DD is still in her crib, and I plan on keeping her there as long as I can
We already have 2 cribs, so #3 can take DS's old crib if it seems like she is still going to be in hers when the new kid needs one!

She's still in her crib and that won't be changing for a while!
I got a booster at like 10 months for #1. I hate high chairs. I never used one for #2.
We put DS in a twin bed at 20 months.
We put the high chair away at around 22 months. He had been using a booster at day care since 18 months. However, we just got the high chair back out for the little one and he wanted to try it. He climbed up and sat and played for a good 20 minutes. I don't think we'll have jealousy issues, but I was interested since it's been 5 months or so that he still remembered it as his.
We moved him from the crib to a toddler bed at 17 months. We rock him and put him down asleep and when I was pregnant it was hard for me to put him down in the crib. I also often had to get him up in the morning when he was still sleepy and that was difficult pregnant. He did great with the transition.
DD1 moved to booster set at about 18 months, maybe a few weeks sooner. We got the high chair back out when she was 22ish months and she told us right away it was for the baby and has never shown an interest in sitting in it.
We moved to a toddler bed at 23 months and gave the crib to her sister about 6 weeks later. We probably could have gone right to a twin, but the toddler bed was giving to us and I think the size of her sleeping space being the same helped with the transition. She can also climb in and out very easily, which is great. I think we'll upgrade to a twin when she turns 3, which would give us some time to put the toddler bed away for a while before giving to her sister, hopefully avoiding jealousy issues.
DD1 Feb 2010
DD2 Sept 2011
We switched to a booster seat before ds2 was born so less than a year. DS2 is now rejecting the booster seat and he just sits in a regular chair. He's 20 months.
DS1 climbed out of his crib just after his second birthday and probably needs to be in a twin bed now. He's pushing 36 inches (the height limit for his bed) but more importantly he's pushing his toddler bed all over his room and using it to climb up to other things. Im hoping he gets over it soon and/or we find a bed heavy enough for him not to push. DS2 is still in his crib, but he's also much smaller in general.
booster - 15 months
twin from crib- will be transitioning in the next month - 20 months
We haven't switched to a booster seat yet because I am lazy and haven't gone to get one. But I hate the high chair and I'm sure he would do fine with a booster seat so definitely soon!
We switched to the toddler bed...about a month ago maybe? If that? So around 19 months.
High chair: DD1 used hers until she was 27 months when we switched her to a booster. Could have done it sooner but she really liked her chair - and I liked having her somewhat contained at meal time.
Toddler bed: DD1 started crib diving on a regular basis at 18 months, so we had no choice but to convert her crib to a toddler bed.
