Does your LO like food one day and not the next?

I swear, I can't figure him out!! I make him scrambled eggs one day and he loves them.  The next day he picks it up off his tray and just throws it all on the floor.  A few times I kind of forced a piece of food into his mouth when it was open for a yawn or to babble or whatever so he could taste it and see he liked it and everytime I did that he would look at me and then eat the food and all of what I put in front of him (which he had previously been throwing on the floor). But I feel terrible sneaking a piece of food into his opened mouth and don't want to make a habit of it because I am worried it could cause issues down the line with refusing to eat for fear of Mommy shoving food in his mouth.

I'm just tired of making numerous "meals" only to have them all thrown down to the dog.  Yesterday we did scrambled eggs which he refused.  Then a pancake which was refused.  Then a vitatop which was refused.  (all of which he has eaten before!).  So I just resorted to giving him fruit and yogurt.  I know he's hungry b/c if I put blueberries or banana or cheese in front of him, he wolves it down.  I just don't get why one day he eats a particular type of food and the next day he doesn't.

I am totally guilty of putting food in my kids mouth. Like today, she'd loves squash but was throwing if on the floor. I put a peice in her mouth and she gobbled the rest of it down.

She mostly does this with fruits and veggies. I still offer them, but I hid pears, peaches in pancakes and she could not get enough. Could not get her to take a single bite of pear though.

  • Yes! One day she can't get enough of everything and the next even the go-tos she loves are on the floor.

I sneak bites in here and there, but honestly I give up! She either eats or she doesn't at this point! I usually give a couple options. A veggie, a fruit a carb or yogurt and meat. She can pick. I'm trying not to get in the habit of making multiple meals.

I've noticed though she'lIl come around when she's good and hungry. If she doesn't eat at lunch she'll eat much better at dinner and vice a versa.

I'm assuming it's just the way of the kid world.
