Amazon Registry?

I know a lot of you have mentioned in other posts that you are registering on Amazon. The only concern I have is that a lot of people may not exactly get it and would prefer an actual store registry. Has anyone encountered this? Or had a ton of success registering on Amazon?

I did Amazon and BRU.  I figured that the Amazon savvy guests would like the online option and free shipping (for the most part) and that the older guests would like to shop at an actual store.

I had great success with Amazon, especially with guests that couldn't come but still wanted to mail a gift.  They were able to order directly from Amazon and have the gift shipped directly to me without having to go to BRU, buy and wrap the gift, then wait in line at the post office to mail it.

BRU is very clear that their registry is online, too, and that anything ordered online from your registry can be gift wrapped and shipped directly to you. Is there fine print that I am missing? Just curious, because that was an important part to me.

There were some things on my BRU registry that were in store only and couldn't be ordered online.  And I thought that when I registered they had free shipping on anything above $50 (though I might be wrong on that) and Amazon it was free if it was over $25 or any amount if you were signed up for Prime.  That and the typically lower prices on Amazon and better selection swayed me that direction.  I'm still an Amazon whoore now ;)

But yeah, you can definitely order online from BRU.  Don't mind me today, my brain is not in the right spot!

  • Success thus far with Amazon. We have a lot of people from other places (we don't really live near family or too many friends right now) and it's working out wonderfully. A few people have bought things and checked the "bought this at another store" box, so that it comes off the registry even if they by it at Target. Anyway, the shipping from Amazon is really great, and I think people enjoy being able to send us gifts so easily.

    You know your guest list.

My friends and family all use Amazon so I wasn't worried and it wasn't a problem. I didn't have any older people (our grandparents) on the guest list since they live out of state. They did all send us nice cards with checks.

    Because BRU customer service sucks.
