Anyone else experience this? He doesn't have to go potty, just calls for me or starts crying. I go in and he seems fine but wants me to lay in bed and snuggle. He was up 3 times last night. We got him a night light several weeks ago but it has been getting worse.
I don't think he was ever up that often as an infant, LOL! Needless to say, coffee is a near and dear friend today!!
Re: 3 year old suddenly waking several times at night?
DS started this at some point last summer. He would be (and still is!) up 2-4 times a night; sometimes to pee, sometimes for a drink, sometimes he just cries about who knows what, and other times from a nightmare. It's exhausting! And he slept really well through the night for a long time before this started out of the blue.
Lately we've been more diligent about trying to prevent it b/c I'm due with LO #3 right away and DO NOT need to be up with a newborn at night, plus DS. We've been really trying to reinforce that he's a big boy and can get up by himself to go potty and can put himself back to bed; we put a nightlight in the hall to help him; we're reinforcing the need to be quiet when he wakes up b/c other people are sleeping (he's often very loud and whiny in these night wakings); we already have a rule that once he's tucked in to bed, if he decides to get up he has to tuck himself back in; and we've been closely monitoring his liquid intake in the evenings.
DS goes through spurts...some nights he sleeps straight through...some nights he is up 2 or 3 times....tuck me back in, I want water, go potty, my socks fell off, etc etc. Just going thru body or mond growth spurts I guess.
