I usually drink flavored water (Aquafina) and DD attacks me whenever I'm drinking it. She LOVES it. I know it's probably not the best thing for her, but is it THAT bad? I've only let her have some a few times. She only drinks formula - doesn't really care for plain water or juice, and decided she was no longer going to breastfeed at 7 months. DH thinks it's really bad for her, but I'm not so sure and was just wondering what other people thought.
Re: Flavored water
I'm not really sure why you would want to give it to her. She's getting the hydration and nutrients she needs from formula; offering her flavored water (with "natural flavors" and other chemicals) is just adding unnecessary crap into her system. I'm not saying letting her have a sip when you're drinking it every now and then is terrible, but I wouldn't put it in a cup and offer it to her.
In summary: yes, it's bad for babies. It's not really great for adults. But a sip now and then won't be harmful ultimately (unless she develops a taste for it and refuses healthy beverages).
