EBF 9 mo ... does he need water in hot weather?

It''s hot and humid today...just wondered if I need to give him extra fluids or does the bm adjust itself to keep him hydrated?TIA

  • I always go with...if I need more water, so does he.  My BM doesn't know what temperature it is.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • I was told a long time ago that one of the first signs of dehydration is dry lips, so if he's got dry lips I offer him water.  My DS loves ice water to soothe his gums.

  • Past 6 months, you can offer water. If a baby needs it, he'll drink it.

But if he doesn't drink it, that's fine too. You milk actually does adjust and is "watery" on a hotter day.
