So DH and I have a list of names we are going to use. 2 boy names and 2 girl names. Well I decided that Azlyn (which is girl name #2) didn't go with Mara or Rosalie. So DH and I chose Elspeth. Which still fits within the right geographical area's and theme of the other 2 names (we have chosen all English, Irish, and Welsh names).
So, what is your thoughts on Elspeth?
Re: New back up name
Thumbs up! A remarkable improvement over Azlyn and a lovely name under any circumstances.
It is a bit clunkier than Mara or Rosalie, but I like that.

What origin is Azlyn? It just looks like some letters smooshed together.
Elspeth is much much better - though I automatically think of the character from Fearful Symmetry - not that anyone else would.
I think of the character too! I like the name though. I loathe Azlyn.

No idea. I don't think it's a real name. However, it fit our theme of Star Wars names. Which Cade, Mara, and Roan are all Star Wars names. Elspeth is a Magic card. (my DH is a huge nerd, I just like the names and look up the real meanings. I was on the fence with Azlyn)
Ooooh ouch. But we all have names we love and hate. I LOVE it. And we get tons of compliments on DD's name. Origins? Derivation of the Irish name Aislinn. It means dream or vision.
