I went to ER today after having rapid heart beats, flushed face, dizzyness... All they could find was my potassium was a little low. This same rapid heart beat episode happened with my last pregnancy which I went to ER and they said I had a little low potassium level. I eat potasssium foods all day, take my prental & drink lots of water. I am wondering if I need potaassium supplement pill as well? Going to my OB friday and will ask. Does anyone here have experience with low potassium during pregnancy?
Re: Low potassium?
Yes! I had it with my first pregnancy, mine was a combo, low potassium and low iron, but I wasn't able to keep my prenatals ....or much of anything, down. Def. ask your ob about a supplement, and load up on those bananas
Do you drink soft drinks? My OB said that drinking too much soda can contribute to low potassium.
I think some people are more prone to this than others. Thankfully I haven't had a problem with this so far.
