I had a grapefruit sized fibroid removed in 2005 right before we started ttc. I had very heavy (goingthe through a super plus tampon AND a pad every hour)periods and spotting all the time. The periods stayed heavy after removal but the spotting stopped. Then I had another one removed in 2007. After that my periods got much better, unfortunately I still needed ivf to get ku. Good luck!

I have a 8 cm fibroid near the back of my ute. It was found in 2009. It was about a 6.5/7 cm when they found it. During my DD's pregnancy it didn't bother me; no pain, discomfort etc. However with this pregnancy even though its not causing me physical pain it is becoming a nuance. They are saying that it might be an underlying cause or relation to my subchoronic hematoma and low lying placenta.
Its location would make it very difficult to remove. I might look into it after this LO is born as I don't think we are going to have any further children. I didn't do anything prior because I didn't want to risk any damages to my ute, cervix etc.
I had a ute full of them, and had them removed immediatly before undergoing IVF.
I had ongoing bleeding, at times incredibly heavy, both during my period and throughout the month. Like the PP, bleeding that could soak through a super plus tampon, an over night pad, and still leave me bleeding a puddle on the floor.

I had a hysteroscopy in March to remove numerous fibroids after my RE discovered them during a saline sonogram prior to making plans for an IVF cycle to TTC #2. My periods before the surgery were becoming increasingly heavy as PPs mentioned. They have remained pretty heavy since the fibroids were removed (I am on BCP to control cystic growth), but are already much more manageable then they were before.
My periods have just gotten really heavy over the last 6 months. Similar to your descriptions, just not between periods. I'm wondering if they'll find any during the SHG.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
