Private Adoption

Is anyone else out there not using an agency but trying to locate a birthmother on their own or have located a birthmother on their own in the past?  Just wondering what your experience has been and if there are any pointers you may have to share.

    We did.  We found our birth mother through a few of her friends I knew from a volunteer group I work with.

    My advice- just let people know you're wishing to adopt.  If my girls never knew, DD wouldn't be ours!

    We used a facilitator, but my friend  did word of mouth and got a high school senior. She confided to her counselor who happened to be friends with my friend. They met and they worked out a private adoption.

    We looked into persuing private adoption options via an attorney.  Attorney affiliated with link above. 

    TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages. Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011. VOTE on my Name List Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    Thanks, yes our lawyer is affiliated with them.  I am just questioning private vs. agency.
