I only had some very light, brown spotting early on in this pregnancy. I've been taking progesterone supplements due to two previous losses. Yesterday and today I've been under tremendous stress at work, and also with some things at home, and just started having some bright red bleeding. Could stress have really brought this on? I have been trying to reach my doctor for about 30 minutes now and only got through to the after hours number once. They connected me to the doctor right away because she wanted to know if there was any bleeding. She greeted me and before I could even tell her the first full sentence, we were cut off! I cannot reach the after hours line at all now. :-( Sorry, just stress on top of stress with this just now. I can't believe that I cannot even get through to their after hours line.
Re: Stress causing bleeding???
I'm 12W3D along. I'm just thinking that's the only thing that has been different in the past couple of days. No intercourse, no heavy lifting, strenuous exercise.... etc. None of those things that might sometimes cause spotting. Just some major stress and anxiety that I have to deal with at work for a couple of days until a situation is handled.
I doubt stress alone is causing bleeding, but I'm sure it isn't helping. Maybe my story will help ease your mind. When I was 16 weeks, I started to bleed. It was dark red and then turned into brown. I went into the dr. They checked my cervix and for the heartbeat and those seemed great. They then scheduled me for an ultrasound to see the cause of my bleeding. I had some old blood behind the membranes of my placenta. My dr says its quite common and it's nothing serious. It should resolve itself. I'm now 20 weeks and found out its another baby boy. Try and relax because it could be nothing. But when in doubt, call your dr. That's what they get paid to do
