Supplemental petition for more restrictive placement

Can anyone tell me what this is or why it is used?  This is concerning a child in fostercare.   Thanks!

  • Thanks!  I googled for 30 minutes before I posted and never found this.  Thanks so much!

A more restrictive placement means they need more structure/services to function well, whether due to behavioral or psychological issues/needs. If they are currently in a foster home and need a more restrictive placement, they are probably going to a group home or treatment center; somewhere that has a treatment team that can better meet the child's needs.

  • Thanks so much!  I can only assume that this means that the "more restrictive placement" is the out of state home of the couple that wants to adopt her.  She's a baby and doesn't have any behavioral or health issues.  TPR is taking longer than expected so maybe her psychological issues could be related to attachment with her soon to be adoptive parents.  Keep your fingers crossed for this little girl!  I'll post updates as I hear from her worker.
