my lap is tomorrow morning. do you usually find out results the day of? they are checking for endo.

I was given the option of the giving my surgeon the okay to discuss everything about the surgery with the person who drove me as they don't normally meet with the patient after surgery since you won't remember (which if you do give them the okay, then yes, they'll tell them), otherwise, I was going to have to wait until my post-op follow up.

It is fairly standard for the surgeon to share the general results with you and whoever accompanies you to surgery. But you won't remember what they say, I assure you. My H had to tell me the same information a million times about the results of my last surgery. I finally remembered my first post-op day.

They shared my results with my husband... I was in no shape to remember anything. I didn't wake up right after mine, and when I did, I kept falling back to sleep and forgot my husband was even there waiting. So.. tell whoever goes with you to take notes after.

Good luck!  When I had my lap, my RE told my husband the details after (I had asked him to) and he also told me in general that they found endo (guessed stage 2-3, though it ended up being stage 2) and that they had cleaned everything up and he expected I would be able to have a baby without needing IVF (jury is still out on that part).  I do remember what he told me, but he definitely went into more detail with my husband, and again with me at the post-op.

My file was sitting on my bed when I woke up in recovery and, being the bad nurse I am, I opened it. I don't remember much except seeing the "DX after sugery: Same with the addition of endometriosis". There were pictures as well but I had no clue what I was looking at. Then I passed back out. The surgeon/RE talked to MH about it but of course he didn't really remember much to tell me. I found most of the stuff out at my post op.

The dr spoke with my DH while I was in recovery - and then reviewed the results with both of us a few days later at the post-op.  Good luck!

i was given my results that day, my husband understood more then i did at the time i was really groggy but when i went for my follow up they discussed them more detailed! good luck in the morning!! i hope all turns out well!!!!

My doc talked to me and DH, but I don't remember even seeing her afterward. DH didn't remember much of any use. If I did it again, I would write down questions and have him take down the answers.

thanks everyone for your advice and well wishes! feeling all warm and fuzzy from the support!

mh is going with me and he is in the medical field, but i think making out a list of questions so he can write down answers is a GREAT idea...he never remembers what he talks to his mom about two seconds after he get of the phone with her. so yeah...

will update after the procedure, hoping they find something they can fix.
