Ok, I was going to say it's not my style but at least it's better than most famous people than I read it's a girl. That's really sad. I will never understand why someone would give a girl a boy's name.
I know most people on this board hate masculine names for girls, but I don't mine, i actually love it. That said I think if you give the child a boyish first name follow it with something a little more girly, two boyish names is just to much. I like both names just not together.

Oh no what an awful name for a little girl! Don't get me wrong, Its nice for a boy. That poor girl has to live with that name, not even the middle name is girly!

That's what happens when you nourish your fetus with pop tarts
My son was 10lbs 1oz and I ate perfectly healthy throughout my pregnancy. Some people just have bigger babies. I just think those kinds of comments are unnecessary.

Oh come on now. My DD wasn't teeny tiny and I thought it was funny. And I never ate one pop tart my whole pregnancy.

Not in every case. With my first daughter I made poor eating decisions, gained 70lbs, and had a 9lb 3.5oz daughter. With my second pregnancy, I got a bit smarter, gained 40lbs, and had a 7lb 10oz baby.

Well I had a big baby and I don't find it funny in the least. I hear people constantly saying negative things about it. Like she must have had GD, or stuffed her face to get that big. I got those kinds of comments all of the time and it's really hurtful because people are insinuating that you did something wrong. I didn't have GD, I didn't gain a ton of weight and I didn't eat unhealthy but we are still judged because our babies were big. It's just rude IMO.

Well I'm sorry you are surrounded by jerks?
Jessica Simpson said in an interview that she buttered pop tarts and ate them. I'm glad you ate well, but it doesn't sound like she did. Hence why the comment was funny to me.
I was also hoping the rumors weren't true. It would have at least been better if she would have used a feminine middle name. If I saw that name on a resume I would assume boy and be shocked if a girl showed up. Plus she doesn't want her daughter to be a tomboy so I don't know what the heck she's thinking using such a masculine name.

I'm sincerely sorry for offending you. I didn't mean it to be an insult to anyone other than Jessica Simpson because she made it absolutely known that she ate like crap, citing pop tarts specifically as one of her favorite foods during her pregnancy. Aimed at HER, not YOU or anyone else. Again, I apologize.

Thanks. Sorry, I am not really a Jessica Simpson/Pop Culture follower so I had no idea she said that about pop tarts. That sounds really disgusting and probably did play a role for her situation. Chalk part of it up to me being a 6 month, emotional and self conscious pregnant chick.

A masculine name won't make her a tomboy. You know that, right? I mean, I get what you're saying - you'd think since she's said she's excited about having a girly girl, she'd give her daughter a girly name. But 1. wishing for a girl girl doesn't mean her daughter will be one and 2. giving the kid a masculine name won't make her a tomboy.

I think she was kidding. But I agree that big baby does not mean you ate a ton (or had GD, or gained a ton of weight for that matter). My son was 9 pounds 11 ounces and I gained an average amount of weight, didn't have GD, and definitely didn't snack on buttered Pop Tarts .
I think with JS, she was very open about her poor eating habits. So because he baby is big, she has opened herself up to these comments.
FWIW, my DD was 5 pound 1 ounce and I ate the same exact way with her pregnancy. To this day my son is just big/tall boy and my daughter is a petite little thing. Genetics of the BABY - not the eating habits of the mom.

I felt the same way. I thought it was great that she chose a name that wasn't a fruit or an object and now I find out it's a girl. What an idiot.

I know I'll be an unpopular opinion here, but I love it. I DON't however, love that she did two boy names...she should have just stuck with Maxwell. I think Maxi for short is adorable as well...."maxi pads" seem like a thing of the past to me, I never hear anyone call them as such anymore.
I don't get the celebrity name thing either but I don't think this is too bad...plus, it has meaning.
Oh, and I gained 30 lbs, ate very healthy and exercised 5 days a week even past my due date, and Ihad a 9lb 7oz baby. I most definitely did not have a single pop tart though! Certainly her diet did have something to do with th big baby part!

I think the reference was to the fact that Jessica Simpson advertised her bad eating habits (constantly)... not to all women with big babies. I don't think Jessica Simpson did any favors for pregnant women really struggling with weight, eating, and GD by being so flippant about some of her food choices.
So many celeb children have completely ridiculous ones - Apple, etc.
Oh, please. I'll take a word name any day over a blatant boy name on a girl.
I like some "unisex/gender-bender" names just fine. But Maxwell on a girl is ridiculous.
I also knew a woman named Apple years before Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter, so I've never thought it was THAT BAD. It's just a quirky, out-there nature name. It's no Pilot Inspektor.
