RE just called to tell me, BTW your AMH is .19.  He never talked about AMH and I never knew about it. My FSH is normal at day 3, but 12.4 at day 10. So between the AMH and FSH I'm pretty much in bad shape. I'm so depressed. He said he's just going to have to give me a high dose when we do IVF, but I'm really getting down. I have 2 more IUI's to get thru before we get to IVF.  Between the shots and mood swings, I don't know how I'm going to make it.  I broke down to my mom b/c I can't get DH on the phone.  I seriously want to go home:(

Ugh. I am so sorry. The dx of DOR is the hardest to deal with, in my opinion. Mostly because there isn't too much we can do about it. When I found out my AMH had dropped drastically since conceiving DD, I about lost my sh*t. Go home if you need to. That news is hard to take in. Go home, cuddle up and watch a terrible movie.

But, just so you know, there are a lot of ladies around here who have conceived with a low AMH. Just remember that there is hope. It does suck that you'll have to do the IUI's first, but IVF is just around the corner. Good luck! Keep us posted.

Thanks so much.  The nurse just called and talked me off the ledge. She said the fact that I responded so well to the meds is what's most important and now they know how aggressive they need to be with me.  I guess I'm just stunned that I could be this bad off, just turned 37.  On the other hand I'm really happy that I didn't mess around and went straight to the RE.  Still can't get DH on the phone.......I'm going to break his phone when I see him tonight!!!

Sorry that you are going through this.  It always seems that DH is unreachable when I need to talk to him most.  Makes me so mad.  Luck for him I usually loose some steam before I talk to him or we'd have a major fight.

So sorry that you have to deal with a low AMH.  That was my diagnosis too (coupled with the fact that my mom & my maternal grandmother both went thru full menopause by the age of 43)...needless to say I was 36 (almost 37) when I went to the RE...and after 3 failed IUIs went to IVF.  The good news is that you do respond well to the meds...my AMH was 0.48 and I ususally started out with 7-9 follicles combined before stimulation and am a pretty good responder too...and even with my old eggs, 6 of the 9 retrieved managed to get fertilized in my IVF cycle.  So I know the RE was happy for that outcome for me (one of the 6 made it and is expected to be here in October - so it only takes one!).  Don't lose hope!  It's hard not to focus on the news especially when they talk about AMH being the new standard...but REs know what they are doing so sounds like they'll be aggressive with your treatment too (which mine went right to a more aggressive protocol).  Don't give up though!!

That really sucks.  I'm so sorry.  Is it possible to take the rest of the day as mental health?  I hope your REs dosages work for you...

so sorry to hear that you got yuck news today! it always just seems like salt in the wound to hear one more thing! i'm not sure what AMH is? i'm surprised i haven't heard that one yet, because i feel like i know way more about this stuff than any woman without a PHD should know! wishing you tons of luck this round...and thank goodness that you respond well to the meds!

Thanks ladies:) I finally got DH on the phone:) I've 'stabilized' but am sure I will cry some more later.  I'm just going to stay positive- 73 days til IVF cycle starts:)

Huge massive hugs!!!  I know how hard those numbers are to hear.  The good thing is that you are responding well to medication.  This means that a pregnancy through IUIs is possible!!!

I am so sorry!  I totally understand, I found out today that my AMH is .16 and I am only 34!  I was told last week that I needed to do a lap to clear up endo before proceding by my REs partner but my RE called me Monday and said that he wanted to see me first so he canceled the lap.  I went to see him today and he said that we are pretty much at the end of the road and I can try IVF if I want but he wasn't sure how I would respond.  Good Luck and keep us updated!
