Cloth Diapering

Cloth Wipes ?

So, I am thinking about once LO's bad rash heals up - starting to use cloth wipes... We have a prince lionheart wipe warmer, and I know that there are cloth wipes I can purchase that will go with it, but I was wondering -

How many of you use cloth wipes?

Did you make your own?  How?

If you purchased them - what brand do you use?

What size do you like best for your wipes?

What fabric do you like best? Bamboo? Fleece? Cotton?

Do you use just water? Or do you use a solution?

Do you keep them in a warmer?  If so - what brand?

Thanks ladies! :)

Re: Cloth Wipes ?

  • I bought my cloth wipes from a shop on Etsy. I found that I could get a better deal there, plus I love the cute prints.

The wipes I bought are about 7"x7". They are made of cotton flannel.

I use a solution - 3 cups water, 1 tbs olive oil, 1 tbs baby wash, and a few drops of lavender essential oil. I put it in the peri bottle that I got from the hospital, shake, and spray it on the wipes as needed. I have also bought the California Baby diaper area wash, and liked it.

I don't use a warmer. I keep the wipes in a Huggies wipes box.

  • I got mine from diaper junction - the diaper junction brand. We like them. They are flannel. I just spray water from a peri bottle on them as needed. We don't have a warmer and I just store them dry on my changing table. HTH!

Do you use just water? Or do you use a solution? both, I prefer water but sometimes I use a solution of baby wash/ baby oil/ and water

  • How many of you use cloth wipes? I do.

Did you make your own?  How?  I did not make my own.

If you purchased them - what brand do you use? I use a mixture of gerber washcloths and circo washcloths

What size do you like best for your wipes? They are just the small squares.

What fabric do you like best? Bamboo? Fleece? Cotton?  I think they are cotton

Do you use just water? Or do you use a solution? I use just water.

Do you keep them in a warmer?  If so - what brand? I do not keep them in a warmer.  I've never used one.  I do keep them in the empty wipes box.

  • We purchased the Fuzzibunz Organic 2-sided cotton/fleece wipes and I love them. They are super soft. https://www.kellyscloset.com/FuzziBunzR-DOUBLE-Sided-Wipes--Organic-Cotton-Fleece-10-Pack-_p_3548.html

We also purchased these to make the solution. It makes a ton of solution (it contains enough for 50 cups) so the price isn't too bad considering. It works really well and baby's butt is clean! https://www.kellyscloset.com/Baby-Bum-Drops-Wipes-Solution_p_3546.html

  •  I have some flannel wipes I purchased from amazon and then a bunch of those thin cheap washcloths I got for my baby shower.  I keep them wet in the wipes warmer with a solution of water, baby wash, baby oil, and tea tree oil.

  • I bought cloth wipes from "Tender Bottoms" on etsy and I'll never go back to disposies again!!! Best cloth wipes in the world and they get softer and softer every time they are washed. The owner even sends along a card that has 4 natural recipes for wipe solutions that you can either spray on for each use or fold them in a bin and pour the liquid on top. Plus if you use tea trea oil in your solution you'll never see a rash again!!!!
