adhesive tape allergy- does it scar????

I had a really bad reaction to the adhesive compression tape they gave me for my leaking c section 4 weeks ago... The itchyness and all that is gone from the cream I was perscribed but there's still slight redness and you can still definitely see where it was. Will this eventually go away???

I had the exact same thing -- for awhile, my skin looked that reacted to the tape looked worse than the scar.  But, it eventually went away (I can't remember how long it took but I know I still had some markings at my pp appointment) and now it's not there at all. I'm sorry this happened to you too -- mine really hurt!

I had the same thing, if I recall correctly it was completely gone by about 8 weeks. But man did it look terrible there for awhile and it itched like crazy. It'll be gone long before your linea nigra

No it won't scar, but I had it all over.  It was horrific!  Soo itchy and awful.

The next time I told them I had that allergy and they used a different kind of tape.  I didn't get it that bad that time.

I still got it from the steri strips though.

I had this from the steri strips and the bandage the put over my incision for the first day or so. I was never given anything for it, just told to put antibiotic cream on it and keep it dry. It took the steri strips off at 2 weeks pp and the rash was healed up by 6 weeks.

I had this and worse! Mine was all the way up to my belly-button and down to the hairline down there- It spread from hip to hip and was oozie and scaley and disgusting! I went to the dr. over and over and over for weeks- I had to use hydrocortizone cream, got a few shots of steroids, and took a lot of pills (steroids).  It eventually cleared up.  HOWEVER, after it cleared up around my scar I started having issues randomly, first on my legs, then on my arms/chest, then my face swelled up and was itchy and horrible! I didn't realize other people had a reaction to this! Thankful that I wasn't alone- sorry you and others had to go through it too... but to get to the point- I don't have any scars from it- I do notice that my scar healed very well in the center of the incision (where I didn't have as bad of a problem with the rash) and didn't heal "as well" otherwise- no additional scarring though!
