Babies: 9 - 12 Months

SOOO tired!

So my son has finally started STTN, but me, not so much. I've been waking up off and on all night long and sometimes can't get back to sleep for hours. I've tried some mild sleeping pills. They do help me fall asleep, but are no help keeping asleep longer than 3 hours. I don't want to try anything any stronger because I want to make sure I will wake up if LO needs me. DH sleeps like a rock and nothing wakes him up, not even a screaming baby. I'm so frustrated and exhausted. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: SOOO tired!

  • oh I how I wish that was my problem lol you problem have so much uninterrupted sleep time your body doesn't know how to do it anymore! I know on the nights LO has STTN I wake up constantly in a panic, I think its what your internal clock is used to. Try some melatonin tablets available from target or any health food store, and try a warm drink before bed. When I had allergies/stuffy nose with the heat/air in the house if I took benadryl, it would have me sleeping like a baby (who made that statement up my baby doesn't sleep?) i'm not saying medicate with benadryl unless you have another reason though!

I am jealous of your venture to try and sleep again...

  • I have the same problem on the nights LO STTN.  I'm so used to her getting up that I just do after a couple of hours!  I hate it because I'm exhausted all the time, you'd think I'd sleep when I can.  I don't have any suggestions but time.  Basically you need to sleep train yourself.

I'm a pretty bad sleeper also. My body needs to relearn how to sleep and it usually takes 2-3 nights of chamomile or benadryl and then I get back into the swing of sleeping better. So frustrating to have a house of people sleeping soundly and you are just laying there!
