If you have used these, what do you think?
It looks like there are lots of benefits: it looks like they are the most economical diaper (better than prefolds?) and they can be hand-washed and/or be machine washed just like normal clothes and there are many ways to fold them depending on the size of your LO..
Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Re: Anyone use flats?
I don't think they're much more economical than prefolds. It seems quality flats are the same cost. I have 6 OsoCozy flats that I bought when i needed to spend more money for free shipping from amazon.
I have to use 2 of them or 1 and a cotton doubler to get similar absorbency to a prefold.
They are easy to wash (especially if you're considering handwashing) and they do dry REALLY fast. Most of the folds need a snappi, but we do occasionally do a similar trifold (with a doubler) and just lay it in a cover.
I love them instead of PFs, I fold them into a newspaper or trifold and add a doubler for longer periods of time. They dry in 1-2 hrs in the sun, and fast in the drier. I have used them a few times with a snappi but I prefer using them to PFs when tri folding.
I would think they would be so easy to hand wash--I never have though.
If you like to snappi, you can fold one into the size of a PF and then use the PF fold you like to do normally.
I like flats. They are versatile, you can really customize the fold so the absorbancy is focused right where your baby needs it. My Osocozy flats are not as absorbant alone as a prefold, but I have bamboo/hemp flats that hold a ton, easily more than prefolds. They were more expensive, though.
I feel like they are cheap enough that they were worth trying out, and while I do use them occasionally now as diapers ( love them as burpees under baby while she plays, she is a major spitter), I know they will be really handy this summer for handwashing while camping.
