Trippleb and others who used LP HCG

What are you doing it for?  And I mean that in a sincere, I-would-like-to-know-more, way.  Please educate me.

Here there!  I take 2000iu of HCG on 3,5,7 and 9 dpo.   My estrogen and progesterone levels don't rise like they should in the luteal phase.  I blame my endo and age for the screwed up hormones.   I do Letrozole on cycle 3 to improve ovulation, no trigger and then I just do the hcg in the LP.  It's done wonders for my numbers.  I have something they call a type 3 luteal phase defect, whereas my numbers drop off sharply at 7 dpo. 

Just trying to make the most of the time between cycling, Plus with my poor response to IVF, the odds of conceiving naturally are about the same as ivf.

Thank you!  What is the reason for using HCG and not P4 either injections of supps?

From what i understand the hcg helps the corpus lutuem produce it's own progesterone and estrogen.  If you happen to get a bfp in that cycle the corpus luteum might be strong enough that you don't need additional P4.   Of course, a lot of times women still need it, but they do bloodwork at 7 dpo, if it your numbers are ok, you wait to see if AF comes, if it doesn't you go in for hcg & P4 bw at 16dpo.  If the hcg is high enough, but the p4 drops they will supplement it with supps.  So far my hcg has always been on the low side so they just retest two days later.   This is with a Napro doctor.  Since they don't do ART they put a lot faith in progesterone.
