Today is DH and I's anniversary and we are trying to figure out where to eat. I have been really weird with eating seafood and steaks ( I like to eat it medium), but since being pregnant I have cut back on that stuff.
Is it safe to eat like trout or shrimp? Or maybe a steak cooked medium?
I know, I sound like a neurotic, but I don't know what to do.....
Re: NBR...Seafood and steaks?
Shrimp and Freshwater trout are perfectly safe, and even recommended for pregnant women to eat.

Medium to Medium Well steaks should be ok (I normally like my medium rare and have switched to Medium). I think the recommendation is for Medium Well or Well done on the steaks.

Ditto all of this.
With making sure meats are cooked thoroughly, temperature is more important than color. You should be fine to eat a medium well or even medium steak.

Since being pregnant, I've only limited drinking alcohol - I continue to eat my steak medium, eat sushi from a place we frequent (and know is reputable), eat lunch meat, etc... and my LO is just fine! Everyone has advice and it seems like one more restriction on what I can and can't do when it comes to what to eat.
I look at it this way - as long as you're eating someplace reputable and using common sense, you should be fine. Illnesses that freak pregnant ladies out, like listeria, can come from places other than meat - just look at the listeria outbreak in melons last year - it's actually more common in raw fruits and veggies than meat. If I were going to limit what I was eating, there would be alot more that I'd limit than steak cooked medium and shrimp!

Mmmmmm shrimp!!!!!!! Yum yum. Eat shrimp or trout, both are good.
I like nice steaks rare, and Texas Roadhouse steaks medium rare. I have been doing nice steaks (from very nice restaurants) med-rare and Texas Roadhouse medium. Or I order something non-steak. Ground beef (burgers) however I get med-well.
I would say that medium rare steak is just fine. I'd be a little more hesitant with medium rare ground beef
