1) Doctor's office called to tell me my HSG wouldn't be covered by insurance (which I already knew, but I think I was holding out hope that somehow they would code it something other than the dreaded IF and I wouldn't be OOP on the whole thing)
2) Literally as soon as I hung up, the insurance company called to tell me the HSG wouldn't be covered. You wouldn't think it would sting twice, but the way the lady kept saying IF really hurt...
3) Got a text from my (former) BFF. I haven't posted about her in a while, but she's the one that knows all about my loss and our current IF struggles, and was the one that announced her pg rather terribly back in February (after trying for a grand total of 2 weeks). I told her, while I was super happy for her (she's been wanting to try since she got married 2 years ago, but her DH was hesitant), that it would be hard for me to talk to her about it. And yet, ever since she's done nothing but complain to me about EVERYTHING. Well, the text I got said "really wish I could drink because I could use a margarita right now." Maybe if I hadn't just been through both insurance calls I would have been nicer, but my response was "not sure what you want me to say - I'd give anything to have that problem right now." To which her only response was "I know." Really?!?!?!?! Then why'd you feel the need to tell me?!?!?!?!?!
Just like getting slapped in the face...3 times...in 5 minutes... I hate Mondays ![]()

Is there any way you can appeal the HSG coverage or maybe get high-risk insurance to cover it? I apologize if I don't make any sense, just trying to give other suggestions.
And side-eye to your former BFF.
((HUGS)) It really suckes that you have to pay OOP. I had to pay OOP for my surgery last year and it added up to near $17,000. We did have the money saved to pay for it, but it still stung. The only bonus is that we actually qualified to decduct medical expenses on our taxes this year.
I am also sorry that your friend is being so incensitive. I will never understand why people do not think before they speak. (((MORE HUGS))

I did a lot of looking over my insurance right after the HSG got scheduled (i.e. when I found out the large looming decrease to my bank account), and it pretty much sucks. Anything even remotely IF related will not be covered. No tests, no prescriptions, no treatments. My only hope was if it got coded as something else, but I don't even know what else my RE could have put. The insurance lady did say that sometimes you can pay extra to get some IF coverage, but I'm pretty sure my company doesn't offer it
