Re: 3 rounds of Clomid and nothing :( Losing Hope
Hang in there and don't lose hope. I suggest you mke an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist asap so you can get some hope back in the system. You should also browse some websites like my clinic (shady grove fertility) or advancedfertility.com. They have helpful videos and information.
Prices vary depending on the type of treatments you need.
Best of luck to you.
You are welcome to post on this board, but you might find more people in your shoes, and in the same place in the IF journey on Trouble Trying to Conceive (TTTC.)
Has your husband been tested yet?
After Clomid we tried injectables with timed intercourse and then injectables and IUI.
Best of luck.

"I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it."
Everybody is welcome!!!
It's easy to lose hope and this is always frustrating.
My trajectory has been similar to yours, except I always knew I'd be facing AI of some sort since I'm queer and we don't have the right equipment to do this naturally. That has been compounded by my own PCOS and DOR.
So, here's how mine went: 2 IUI's with a midwife (OOP---I paid for sperm and for the cost of each visit---so sperm from the bank we were using at the time was $400.00 and each insemination was $200.00 and we did 2 each cycle--- funny side note: Nursemidwives cannot, by insurance laws, inseminate and be reimbursed for that without doctor supervision; they can however, insert mirena, a more dangerous proposition by and large...love it).
Then, we switched to an RE--- he was covered under my insurance, but his labs weren't (fun little catch there) so that was half OOP and half paid by insurance. I was with him for 2 cycles, both cancelled.
Switched to another RE (everything was covered) and I've been with him since September. With him I did all the baseline testing, (it's an US, day 2/3 blood work, and HCG and day 21 bloodwork). Then I started Clomid. Now, I'm not sure what your body size is, but I'm a fat girl. I did 3 cycles of clomid with him, we only inseminated after the 3rd. I wasn't responding to the drug at all. If you look at the research if you have a BMI of above 25 and PCOS Clomid is all but contraindicated. They prescribe it because it's what the insurance companies force them to do (just like insurance forces so many IUI's before IVF etc) .
So, after those 5 cycles I was just devastated. I had a WTF visit with my RE and he gave me a choice between Letrozole (50% change of ovulation) of FSH (100% change of ovulation). Guess which I chose?
So, I just finished my first round of injectibles--- which was frustrating....I wasn't repond, we upped the dosage, I wasn't responding, we change the injection site and then BAM I went from "no response" to "Trigger tonight" in four doses. (FWIW the dosage that I responded to was 2 night on 400 iu and 2 night on 450iu into my thighs.) So---- that at least made me feel like something was finally working. And we did an IUI yesterday morning---so I guess now we're in the waiting game. But this time last week when I had been at "hey babe, if this doesn't work, we're moving onto adoption" I'm not at "hey babe, I think I can give this another shot" (pun intended).
In terms of cost...
1. Where do you live---
2. Does your husbands insurance have fertility coverage?
3. At my Clinic, the costs OOP are determined by what you need... So, I think an entire IUI cycle (included US and BW and insemination) runs about $2000.00. And that fee goes up or down depending on a bunch of stuff.
Then, there is the cost of the medication, which OOP is really hefty, imo. The Gonal F out of pocket would have cost me like $4000.00 a cycle, Brevelle, was 1200.00 a cycle... (and what they wanted me on originally...but not in my Insurances formulary).
So--- sorry I'm not more helpful---but just thought I'd share what I know.
I feel you on the failed clomid. I just went through my second cycle of it and was planning my first IUI but I went from responding great my 1st cycle (two good size follies and a third on the verge of maturity) to no response this cycle.
How do I deal with it? Well honestly, there isn't a whole lot of options. I cried a little (okay a lot) and then realized there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. We'll try again next month...
I hope things get better for you. GL
Clomid didnt help me at all, like you I was like I will get pregs right away, that didnt happen...you def need to see an RE, after teh OB prescribes Clomid, there is nothing else they can do for you....by the time you make an appt, do all the tests the RE wants you to do you will prob be on your 2-3 month anyway, can you get on your husbands insurance or no?
Have you done the HSG? the Saline Sonohysterogram, those were both necessary for my RE, has your husband been tested?
