I'm going to be CD'ing for the first time with this preganancy and I'm thinking prefolds are going to be the cheapest, easiest way to get started but I'm wondering if is there a big difference in brands among the prefolds? Like are the Imagine Smart fits better than the Osocozy's? I saw Nicki's Diapers has what sounds like a pretty good package deal with Imagine Smart Fits Indian cotton PF's and you can pick your covers (I'm thinking Thirstie's Duo Wrap) but I'm wondering if the PF's are all the same or no and do any of you who use prefolds have a preference? TIA!
Re: Prefolds Preference?
I can't say all prefolds are the same, because there are Gerber ones.
But I have GMD cotton prefolds and they seem to work just as well as my expensive Bummis organic cotton prefolds. They're probably twice the price as GMD and only come in 2 sizes.
As long as they are 4x8x4, you'll be good to go. Absorbancy - layers - rule above all else.
There is cotton and cotton gauze. Other than that, there is bleached and unbleached, and sizes. Those are the decisions to make. I have tinytush prefolds, because they were on clearance, and I can't tell a difference between any other brands.
Ok, that's kinda what I was thinking, as long as the layers/absorbancy is the 4x8x4 I should be ok no matter what prefold...as long as they aren't Gerber (I hear those aren't very good for CD'ing).
