Hi all.

I am unfortunately new. After surviving several years of TTC and infertility, we conceived with IUI in March. Two ultrasounds showed a perfectly healthy baby, but then a third u/s on Thursday showed that the baby's heart had stopped beating at right around 8 weeks. We're absolutely devastated.  I elected to have a D&C so we didn't have to wait any longer for this to end - I'd been having bleeding already for a couple weeks and I knew something wasn't right. I felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop for the entire time I was pregnant or like I was waiting for someone to jump out and tell me it was all a joke. 

My OB and RE have both said we can start a new medicated IUI cycle after one period has passed (assuming everything from my upcoming ultrasounds and pathology reports all look ok). 

Does anyone have a guess how long it will take the pathology reports to come back? What about AF? The OB said AF can take up to six weeks to show up but is that normal? It seems like an eternity at this point.

    I had a natural miscarriage, so I can't really offer any insight for you. But I just wanted to say sorry for your loss. Best wishes.

    I'm sorry for your loss.  I had a similar pg experience.  I started spotting two days after a BFP.  2 u/s during 6w showed 100% healthy.  7w u/s showed growth 1 week behind and low h/b.  8w u/s showed no h/b on Thursday, and I had a d&c on Friday.  My ob said 4-6 weeks for first period.  I didn't ask about the timeline on the pathology reports; I'm also interested if anyone knows that.  I have a f/u with my ob in 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to get some info then.
    AMA.
    BFP #1: 4/7/12. EDD: 12/2/12.
    Growth on target with h/b at 6w3d. No h/b at 8w4d. D&C 4/27/12.
    BFP #2: 2/28/13. M/C 5w1d.

    This really freaking sucks, doesn't it? 

    I totally forgot to ask for a timeline on the pathology report. I have bloodwork with RE this coming Friday, f/u with the OB in two weeks, and then I'm not sure where we go from there. 

    I had a friend go through this a couple years ago and she was kind enough to pass on a warning that the path report will show the sex of the baby. I was so glad to hear that ahead of time bc I hadn't even made the connection and I really do not want to know - finding out on paper would destroy me so I'm going to ask the RE/OB to black that out if they can.

    I'm so sorry for your loss. It's awful to lose one after you had to work so hard to get pregnant in the first place...

    Sorry for your loss.  I had a blighted ovum and had the pathology report in two day that there was no pregnancy tissue found (they missed the tissue completely).  Not sure how long it would take to get any genetic testing results.

    Yes, it does suck.  Thank you for the info on gender on the path report; I didn't know that.

    OMG, Moose. I hate that I'm seeing so many familiar 3T/IF faces here. I'm so sorry.

    I know. I hate seeing anyone here, but it especially breaks my heart to see the 3T and IF ladies here :(   When you are ready, you may want to check out TTCAL -- I'm mostly lurking there right now, but it seems to be a pretty solid board.

    AF came for me  about two and half weeks after my D&C. I know that everyone is different, and my hormones were well on their way down before my D&C.  I was expecting AF to be horrendous and awful from what i had read but it was very mellow, and almost pain free. I am sorry for your loss and I hope AF comes quickly and is as easy on you as it she was for me. ((((HUGS)))
