So, I spent last night in the hospital. I started getting really strange pains on my left side around 7:00. I started chugging water and thought maybe it was just the way my baby was laying. However, the pain worsened to the point that I couldn't get comfortable in any position. I also began to notice a tiny bit of blood in my urine. Long story short, I called my Ob, she had me go to hospital for testing and it turned out to be an inflammation of both kidneys, and that baby was just fine. I had to get an Iv and antibiotic.
My husband joked that it was a practice run for the big day when baby comes. He did a good job walking me to the bathroom with my Iv pump every 15 minutes!
But the lesson we learned....keep your gas tank full!!:). We were on E when we left. We only have a 15 minute drive and made it but if there was any traffic or construction set-back, we would have been in trouble. Yes, it seems like common sense but common sense has escaped me these days!!
Re: My hospital visit and the lesson I learned...
I'm feeling a lot better, thanks, still have some pain but I'm drinking water like I'm getting paid for it so I think that is helping.
My dh is out getting my prescriptions...one of which is a painkiller. I'm going to hold out on using it, but if the pain gets worse..you can better believe I'll be taking it:)
I'm glad your LO is alright and you are being treated. I hope you feel better soon.
Good tip about the gas tank! I didn't even think of that.
