Doctors appointment question

I was seen by the doctor at 8 weeks and was told I was high risk due to them being twins. I was reffered to the specialist and told to follow up with the doctor in 8 weeks well the specialist wants to see me in about 8 too. Is 8 weeks to long to go between appointments? I feel like I shoud be seen at 12 weeks

I do think its strange they don't want to see you until 16w.  I would call and ask.  From my understanding, its pretty standard to see your OB every 4w no matter how many babies you are carrying.  Esp after 12w.  Even if they just do the standard bp, piac, weight and doppler, its nice to get in and make sure things are looking good.  I started seeing them every 2 weeks at about 30w and more frequently as I got further along. 

I can see not seeing the specialist until 16w, that's about when I started going for cervical checks and growth scans (18w).

They started seeing me weekly pretty early, but I had a history of PTL, so I think they were being extra careful. It seems like 16 weeks is pretty late though. By that time, I had already been multiple times and had my a/s done there.

I agree with PPs, especially since (if you want to do it) 16w would be too late to do the first trimester screening.

What about your 1st tri screening? They did mine around 12 weeks and since my OB doesn't do twin u/s I had to go to the MFM anyway to do that. Then I started seeing him every 2-3 weeks since then. I think it's weird.

Yeah no- that's weird. You shoudld at least see your OB in there. What about the 1st trimester screening? They at least need to give you that option during that time frame. Someone is dropping the ball.

I was seen at 8 weeks and they are going to see me again at 16 I have asked twice and they said they have asked the doctor twice and that when he said to come in.

 What kind of screening do they do in the first trimester? I had a bunch of blood work.
