Lame

My parents have A for the weekend.  Our plan was to go to the casino early in the day, have dinner, then do whatever this evening.

I ended up having four drink vouchers there, so DH, who cannot pass up something free, ended up tying one on completely out of the blue.  Guess who has been asleep for two hours already?

And I come here and it is quiet.  Sigh.  I guess I am going to grade papers.

YAY!!  Heck no. But we never expect to win. Today was the first time ever that I was ready to go before he was.

And I miss my baby.  But I guess she has been super good for my parents.

Boo! Sorry it was a bust. We just got home from our visit to upstate NY and I couldn't be happier :)Wine by the fire. I'm exhausted, though!

YOU Biotch! I would give my right leg to do that right about now!

Tori, write A a letter instead of grading papers...I thnk it is so cute you miss her. I bet she would love to read it one night at college and all alone :)

Oh and hell just froze! you have an email!!

We opened a Gmail account in her name, and I write her letters all the time there. But thanks for the suggestion!  Off to check my email!

That is a great idea! How does that work? Do you print them or leave them there for her to open?

I leave them for her to open.  Naturally, we'll keep an eye on the account, and in the event that gmail ever goes defunct, we'll transfer the letters.  Both of us and both grandmothers have the address, and though I told everyone I wouldn't, I peek from time to time, and I write her the most by far ;)

First, I'm copying this idea. Second, sorry your night didn't turn out the way you expected. I say heck with grading papers- make the most of it and do something you enjoy! Unless you enjoy grading papers.. Some people do

I can't take the credit.  I saw this gmail commercial posted somewhere else on the Nest:

Here's my last letter I wrote to her a couple days ago.  I also use it as a long of accomplishments:

    Allison,

You are seven and a half months old, and you are still amazing!
You've been wearing your helmet now for about a month, and it doesn't
bother you at all. It's like you don't even know it is there.

You've been in day care for two weeks now. It has been very hard on
Daddy and I. We know it is a good place, but you got sick after just
three days there. We were very worried about you because you had a
bad cough, and then you spiked a fever. Even through that though, you
weren't fussy at all, and it didn't seem to bother you.

You are 22 lbs now, and eating all sorts of foods, too many to list
here. You are finally rolling from your belly to your back all the
time now, though you don't roll from your back to belly yet. We have
a play table downstairs from your cousin Ava that we just introduced
to you this week. Though you can't stand by it yet, when we hold you
there, you really seem to like it!

Pretty soon I will be home with you for the summer...I can't wait! I
want to have picnics in the front yard with you and take you swimming.

Baby girl, I love you so much. You are such a good girl, and when
you smile, I am the happiest person in the world.

    Love,
    Mommy

I love your email idea and the letter you wrote her!

And I'm a teacher too, boo on bringing home papers on the weekend!  Put those things away until Monday!
