bad news with 2nd u/s

Went in today for a second ultrasound, should have been at 7w1d, unfortunately growth stopped somewhere just after 5w. We are heartbroken. Right now the plan is to wait and go back on Wednesday, then plan for the next step. Right now my preference is D&C. I just want this over with and am already fearing what happens next.

I keep thinking when will it happen? Where will I be? I am hurting so much emotionally I can't imagine hurting physically as well.

I know this is a very early loss but it is so painful.

I will be joining you ladies and probably lurking mostly to get an idea of what to expect and reading up on D&C.

sorry for your loss. I chose D&C for the same reasons...not wanting to wait it out. I hope you find a decision you feel comfortable with

I'm so sorry for your loss. I found out on a Thursday that it was most likely a blighted ovum, and the plan was to wait 2 weeks, and if the m/c hadn't started naturally to either get Cytotec or have a D&C. I started spotting Sunday night and bleeding on Monday, so it was actually a pretty short wait after the tentative diagnosis. Let me tell you, though, those 3 days between the ultrasound and the spotting felt like 3 months. I completely understand wanting to get it over with with a D&C. It's your choice, and there is really no bad/good one.

Thank you ladies! I started spotting this morning so it looks like we won't make it to Wednesday to make that decision. In some way I'm fine with that, if I can avoid the procedure that is probably best, I just don't want to drag on wondering WHEN it will happen.

I found out on a Friday that I had lost my baby, the next day I started bleeding, my OB thinks the stress of the situation brought it on.  I still choose to have the d&c, since the natural miscarriage process can take a long time.
