Hello Ladies,
I'm new to the board and have recently found out that I have polycystic ovaries (about 20 per ovary) - but we are awaiting to see if I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (waiting for blood test results to come back). I have my period every other month, but other than that I do not meet any other criteria for PCOS. We have been TTC for about 7 months now with no luck, and I am scared with polcystic ovaries I will not be able to have a baby, or that we will have to go on fertility medication, which I would like to avoid. Does anyone have any reassuring stories for me? I've been really upset over this since we found out.
Re: PCO and TTC
Not necessarily a reassuring story, but hopefully some encouragement. We have been TTC for 16 months and I was told I have PCOS. I met with my RE for the first time 2 days ago and he'll be able to confirm or re-diagnose me as I have very irregular periods and have had a history of cysts.
Unfortunately I can't give you much advice until you know more details about your situation. Have you spoken with your dr at all? I think 7 months is too early to see an RE, but you may consider that as well if you're that concerned.
Welcome to the board and good luck!
