Stroller or carrier at the zoo?

We are going to the zoo Sunday with all 4 of Evie's grandparents.  Right now I'm thinking I might bring both the carrier and the stroller.  I think she'll like being in the carrier so she can see better and it will be fun to interact with her, but we'll also have the stroller to put our stuff.  Plus, after being worn for a while, I think she likes to have her own space in the stroller sometimes.

What have you done?

Re: Stroller or carrier at the zoo?

  • I brought the stroller last time and I wish I'd had the carrier too-- she couldn't see from the stroller so I was taking her in and out constantly, but when she passed out, the stroller was good to have--

    I'd bring both!

  • I always bring both.  Even if I end up wearing him, at least I have the stroller to put all of our gear and lunches and stuff.  Have fun!
  • We took the stroller and DS loved sitting in there and people watching. I took him out when he couldn't see the animals from the stroller but overall it worked great! I don't wear DS very often any more but if I did I probably would've brought that too. I'd bring both just to be safe. :)

  • We took the stroller... If I would have been wearing her I think we both would have been so hot we'd have been miserable. Plus, when we got there she was asleep! So she slept in the stroller for the first 15 minutes!

  • Bring both for sure...We bring our Choo-Choo wagon with all 4 cars(in my siggy pic)...that way the boys can ride, we have room for one of the big kids to rest and one car for all our stuff/cooler.  We go to the zoo at least once a month....It is so fun!  I bring along my kinderpack for fussy kiddos if they need a ride for a little bit.

  • Both sound good. We normally just bring the stroller to Disneyland, but there are times that DS just wants to be held, and we normally babywear (stroller is pretty much a disney-only thing for us). It is a nice place for all our stuff. That and Disneyland we cannot wear on a ride, it makes much more sense at a zoo to bring both.

  • I'm glad you asked this, we're going to the zoo this weekend, too.  I was planning on bringing both a stroller, and the carrier.  When we take DD to the aquarium, DH usually ends up with numb arms from holding her the whole time (she's not a lightweight, let's put it that way) so I was thinking to bring both.  I'm glad others have had experience doing the same!  Have fun at the zoo!!

  • We just got back from the zoo!  We brought the carrier and the stroller.  This time she only used the stroller but the last 2 times we went she spent half or more of the time in the carrier.

  • I would say stroller.  I would have voted carrier but if you have grandparents they will want to carry LO.  DD wanted to see everything so DH carried her since we didn't have the carrier.  But it was nice to have the stroller.  I laid her in it to have a bottle and prayed that she would nap, but she wanted no parts of either.  Too much to see and do.
