I was really young. Like maybe 10 years old. I got it a few times.. 2 or 3.. before it occurred to me what it was. I hid it those first few times thinking something was wrong with me or that I was disgusting. When I finally realized (thank goodness my BFF was 2 years older than me!) the next time it came, I told my mom. She immediately called and told my grandmother. I was so embarrassed.

I will probably have a talk with Nora about it when she is 8ish years old.

I was just relieved b/c I was also late (9th grade) and thought it would never happen! My best friend was sleeping over and I ran out of the bathroom telling her and my mom. That said, they were in my super inner circle and if anyone else knew I would have been mortified!

I was 12 & when I got home I called my mom at work. She proceeded to tell her entire office of about 80 women in a customer service department. She than came home & told my father & they both looked at me with this look of awwww. Their little girl was waking up. I, however, was disgusted w/ the whole idea. I did not want to deal with it.
