I looove smoothies. Try these recipes they are so good, healthy, and natural: 1 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup ricotta cheese, 3/4 cup of frozen strawberries, tablespoon of natural no sugar added peanut butter. OR 1 cup soy milk, 1 banana, plain greek yogurt 6oz, peanut butter. OR 1 cup soy milk, half a cup frozen black cherries, one scoop of chocolate protein powder. OR half an avocado, handful of baby spinach, 1 banana (optional), 1 cup soy milk, and honey to taste.
I guess I'm in the minority, I always seek out FULL FAT yogurt, none of this low-fat or fat-free stuff, when using both regular yogurt and Greek yogurt. (It's usually hard to find full-fat yogurt, everyone seems to want low- and no-fat yogurt.)
Fat is good for you, your body needs fat. Eating fat doesn't make you fat; in fact, eating fat actually helps you burn fat. And helps with absorption of nutrients. For example, you should never use fat-free salad dressing, you are just depriving yourself of nutrients if you do, your body can't absorb the all nutrients from the vegetables without having some fat. Same thing with your smoothie, if it's fat-free, you won't get all the nutrients from it.
Fats to be avoided are trans fats, fats from soy (soybean oil) or vegetables (vegetable oil, canola oil, etc), and hydrogenated fats/oils.
Good fats, and yes saturated fat is actually an essential fat and not a bad fat like it's been given the reputable of, are fats from organic animal sources (preferably grass-fed too) and fruit and nut oils (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, walnut oil, etc.)

Agreed! I use canned coconut milk, whole milk yogurt, or cream.
Seriously ladies, if I were to give one piece of dieting advice it would be to add more fat to your diet.
Signed,
the girl who lost 45 pounds using butter, generous amounts of olive oil, full fat dairy products, eating bacon, and snacking on coconut oil.
