Yesterday was a good IF day.  I talked to my RE's office finally and they said that I can proceed with treatments.  She was even willing to do a cycle of Femara and IUI to see how I respond before we do a full injects cycle.  I also found out that they are willing to convert to IVF if during an IUI I overstim and have to many follies especially with my DOR dx.  DH also decided to take is old job back for a while, which he made more money at and instead of working 60 hrs a week he will be around 40-50.  Oh and we finally got our state tax refund.  All great things right?

So then today hit.  I have been stalking H medical chart for the results of his recent SA following 3 months of Clomid and supplements.  They were posted and I want to throw up, scream or cry, most likely all three at this point.

0.8 Mil, 0 Motility!  How can that be???  WTF happened???  I'm devastated!!  I just don't understand how this could be happening after things finally started to fall into place to get started.  Our f/u is Monday with the urologist but I don't even know what he will have to offer at this point.  I'm at a loss.  I have no idea where we will go from this point.

Oh sweetie I am so so sorry! I am hoping maybe there was a problem with the sample and I hope DH can try again. I hope the urologist has answers! I know you can proceed with IVF and they can surgically remove DHs sperm so maybe that is an option for you. Sending you love and hugs and snuggles. I wish there was more I could do!

I'm so so sorry. Has he had any infections? Been on any steriods or other meds beside the clomid? I hope the urologist can help. ((huge hugs)) Ugh.

That is sucky news, I am sorry. Hopefully it was a lab screwup or a fluke...I don't know much, but based on you sig info, it seems like an odd jump in the wrong direction. I hope the uro has something helpful to say on monday.

I'm so sorry. Maybe he had some kind of virus a while back that caused issues? I hope it's just a one time thing. *hugs*

Did he have any bloodwork done before/after the Clomid?

It seems possible to me that Clomid messed his hormones up instead of improving them. If his hormones are way abnormal, then this terrible SA could be the result.

If everything else was consistent (volume, etc), then I'd say that it's likely not lab error. I definitely hope you can get a repeat really soon and get to the bottom of this!

I'm so sorry hun. You have been through such a roller coaster and just when you though it was all good this happens    So not fair!  As pps have mentioned I hope this was a fluke or something you can pinpoint and correct like an infection. ((hugs))

Thanks for the thoughts ladies.  Today totally sucks.  I still haven't told DH yet either, he's at work until around midnight.  I do NOT want to break the news but I can't bear to have it on my shoulders all weekend until our appt Monday.  Of course, I would tell him anyways, I just don't want to.  I really had hope for this to work and I never EVER expected this result.  I'm praying for a fluke and another repeat will be completely different.  I don't even think we can do an IUI with that number can we?

As for the ones who asked, we had labs drawn before starting Clomid and testosterone drawn two weeks after starting.  Before starting his FSH was 14.6, LH was 2.8 and Testosterone was 1.76.  The urologist explained that his FSH was high because he only has one testicle to create sperm with, similar to how our body increases FSH to "try harder" to produce eggs.  I may not be explaining that correctly but it makes total sense.  He ran a bunch of other tests to rule out "conditions" and he was clear so the only thing that was bad was testosterone.  Two weeks after starting the Clomid his level went up to 2.85 which is normal range.

He hasn't been sick either so I don't know what to think.

I'm so sorry to hear that. IF has a way of kicking you down again once things start looking up. I hope you get some answers soon and that things aren't as bad as they may seem right now.
