Feeling only one twin

My babies have been in a "bunk-bed" position since the beginning with Baby A laying across the bottom of my stomach and baby B above my belly button. For the past 2 or 3 days I have only felt movement really low. I know I am so early and the babies could have moved (I felt someone flop this past weekend) but I worry a lot and not sure if this warrants a call to the DR. WWYD?

  • I am no expert but I can share my experience so far. The past few weeks at my bi weekly ultrasounds both babies have been head down with A lower on my left and B a little higher on my right. I usually feel movement higher on my right side and lower in the middle. So I'm never really sure which baby I am feeling and always think it's just baby b! I have a doctors appointment today and I'm going to ask when I should start monitoring movement and if I should even expect to know which baby I'm feeling. Since they still have room to move around I feel like they could be changing positions and it's not for sure always 1 baby or the other I am feeling. So far I haven't let it worry me or freak me out (so easy to do!). I think once they are bigger and have less room to move we'll be feeling each babies movement more distinctly. GL! I can update after my appointment if you'd like.

  • Mine moved around so much and I thought i was just feeling one, but I was really feeling them both.  They are now healthy one month olds :)

  • I have the exact same thing.  I can feel Baby A way more than Baby B.  If I just put my hand on my stomach where Baby B is, she will kick a bit.  Baby A doesn't need any encouragement.  In fact, he's been kicking me for the last 10 minutes.

  • Mine move around and the past few days I thought I was feeling only one of them until I used the doppler and they are literally right next to each other so what I thought was one baby is actually two lol.

  • Ok- asked my doctor today and she said just what OP are saying- at this point it's most likely I can't tell which baby I'm for sure feeling. And while one might be kicking alot the other might be punching alot. Hard to tell. She said if I feel like I haven't felt them in awhile eat/drink something and then wait for some movement. When I asked if there would be a point in time where I would be able to tell who is moving she said yes- when they are bigger and can't switch positions as much. Hope this helps!

  • I had one anterior and one posterior placenta. It definitely made it harder to feel both babies. Don't worry, they will totally kick the heck out of you in a few weeks. There's nothing quite like the feeling of being kicked simultaneously in the bladder and the ribs.
