Cloth Diapering

New to this

We are looking to get my 17 month into some cloth diapers to save us some money. I am looking on advice on good brands for toddlers, how many I should get, etc... Any info would be appreciated. TIA

Re: New to this

  • The best fitting I have for my 2 year old would be Knicker Nappies, WAHMies, and Kawaii Bamboo.  They are the tallest, most generously cut, and they work like a charm.

How many you want depends on how often you want to do laundry.  I do laundry every day and a half to 2 days.  I have about 20 diapers for the 2 of them.  But, I also have Flips disposables and prefolds as backups in case I run out.

  • ::waves hi::  we should do a irl meet up and you can see them on Teddy!

Prefolds are definitely cheapest and I'm still using them on him.  I use sposies for day care and fitteds with a hemp insert for overnight.   I do have a few pockets for errands, church or being too squirmy on the table.  I dislike AIOs because they take so long to dry and since I have hard well water they hold onto stink more (generally true of synthetic materials).

Check out this board's FAQ section to learn more.  My favorite sites are green mountain diapers, Jillian's drawers and Kelly's closet.  It can be addicting though but I keep myself disciplined and only buy when/what I need and I usually think about it over 1-2 days before ordering. I've also seen good deals (though usually smaller sizes) on Craigslist.  Buying used can let you save even more!

How is M doing with the potty?

CollegeCouple? Is that you? haha sorry.

Thanks for all the advice. M kind of got out of his potty usage when we moved back into our own place. Also daycare didn't work with him like I asked. But we are working on it

LOL we are the opposite, our daycare is complaining that we don't do the potty routine at home lol while DD only uses the potty at DC :( She's only 16 mos though, so I wasn't ready for PTing!

Yep, it's me.  Long story short, had to get a new s/n.  my mom thinks DS is ready to potty learn but I'm not ready.  Anyway, PM if you'd like to get together.  Is there a convenient half way point?
