Crying over McDonalds?

I am so irritated! I was craving a fish sandwich from McDonalds all day, and DH so nicely went out tonight to get one for me. When i took a bite it was hard as a rock and had a horrible taste and smell. DH even tried a bite and had to spit it out...

So now my craving is unfulfilled, i have a terrible taste in my mouth and i am crabby over this stupid sandwich. I only swallowed one bite of the sandwich but I'm still worried that i ate rotten fish...ugh! Stupid McDonalds!

  • Call the store, tell them what happened and they will more than likely give you a free meal next time you are in.

I used to work at McDonalds a long time ago and any time there was a complaint and they didn't want to come right back we would put their name in a book so they could have a free meal/sandwich next time.

My other advice is ALWAYS ask them to cook one fresh for you if you have time.  I remember how long the fish filets would sit there even though there was supposed to be a 30 min shelf life... longer than 30 min for sure (yuck!)

Sorry about your unfulfilled craving but at least if you call you won't be out the money.

  • I have cried over food more times that I care to admit over the past 7+ months. It's such a letdown when you're really looking forward to something and it just doesn't come up to par.

  • Re OP:

Don't feel bad (if you do) for getting emotional. My friend & I were discussing the things we cry over & came to the conclusion we're just overwhelmed. Pregnancy is a very intimate, overwhelming personal experience. The way you're feeling is only natural

This has been me with Krystal burgers, where I lived recently we didn't have. And each time I go it's a let down. Not a big  FF eater but personally I love those little suckers, unfortunately they're always a really greasy hot mess :/

  • I cried over ice cream tonight.  I asked my husband if he wanted to go get ice cream and he said he didn't, then I pouted for an hour, then we had a fight, then I still didn't get my ice cream.  He said an hour and a half later that he would have went with me, but didn't say it at the time.  I have been super emotional all week and it's kind of embarassing.
  • Oh honey, food is one of the few things I HAVE cried over during pregnancy.  You have every right to have been upset.  I got upset just reading about that dumb sandwich!

Definitely call up there & complain.  I actually wrote to corporate about a recent McD's experience & got a call from the General Manager apologizing & he sent me free meal/ice cream coupons for my trouble.

  • Thanks all :) I feel much less like a crazy person now! I did call over there and kind of went off on the poor manager. She comped us two meals ( even though we only bought 1 sandwich), so i'm gonna give it another try tonight. They better not disappoint!

Oh, and good advice for requesting it be made fresh, i just might do that!

  • I had a similar experience with jack in the box 8 years ago, wanting a spicy chicken sandwich to make me feel better after a breakup. It was cold and so horribly disappointing that it caused me to give up fast food after that and I've never gone back.  Best thing that ever happened!
