Hi all! I posted this on 12-24, but thought I would try here too.
DS usually naps in his PnP at other people's houses just fine, but it has been a while since he has needed to do so. He is going to stay the night at my sister's house for his first overnight this weekend (to start prepping him for when I am in the hospital in Sept.). I was just going to bring the PnP, however, I am really starting to think he is getting too big for it! (He is 30lbs and about 36in tall) I am going to bring it in tonight and see, but what if he is too big for it? He sleeps in his crib still here at night, and has never slept on a mattress on the floor, cot, etc. My sister and I have talked about laying him on my niece's mattress, however, do you think that would be alot to ask of him in one night? His first overnight and to sleep on a mattress instead of crib/PnP?
Re: What does your 2-yr old sleep in/on when not at home?
My DD is about the same height and she is about as long as my ILs PnP but she sleeps just fine in it. At my folks she sleeps in a crib they bought for her and their future GCs.
Just make sure to bring things he's familiar with. We always travel with her sound machine, star-light turtle, pillow, blanket and 2 stuffed toys.

Thanks for the replies ladies! He does great in the PnP (so far) and I would hate to change it up on him! We will stick to the PnP for his first overnight....and we will definitely bring every little thing he needs to make him feel right at home. These kiddos sure are particular about their bedtime routines, huh!? haha
He is about to start a daycare where they sleep on mats, so I hope that will help him transition to sleeping on a mattress, cot, etc. for when the time comes.
