Progesterone Test Results

Just got a call from the nurse letting me know that progesterone test came back low...5.2 7dpiui.  She said my RE said this confirms ovulation, but it still seems low to me.  Thoughts? I will be starting on progesterone supplements next cycle with Letrozol (Femara) instead of Clomid. I'm bummed but what can ya do?

My RE wants it to be at least 10, but prefers 15.  Why wouldn't they just put your on progesterone supps now?

That low of progesterone does not mean you are out. I think they should put you on suppositories immediately.

Give you support if a fertilized egg did try to implant.

32mm is a REALLY big follicle, did you have your E2 levels checked before you triggered? It sounds more like a cyst than a follicle that would release an egg to me.

32mm is a REALLY big follicle, did you have your E2 levels checked before you triggered? It sounds more like a cyst than a follicle that would release an egg to me.  

They didn't check my E2 levels. I have had issues with cysts in the past (and with them rupturing) but that was while I was on BCP and haven't had a problem since I changed pills right after that and when we started TTC in Nov 2010. Does Clomid combined with Estrodial make you more susceptible to cysts? I'm nervous to start Femara but I can't take the Clomid headaches and all the emotions that come with it. Thanks again!

Really?  7dpiui is not at all too late to start progesterone.  That's why they test it on that day...if it was too late to do something about it, what would be the point?

Really?  7dpiui is not at all too late to start progesterone.  That's why they test it on that day...if it was too late to do something about it, what would be the point? 

 I don't know. It's just what they told me.

No. My OB put me on clomid after prog test in Nov. our RE kept me on it and added estradiol. Everything is in my sig. Obviously I trusted that my doctors knew what they were doing. I prob should have been more informed..

You should be having a baseline EVERY cycle before starting Clomid. My "I am not a doctor but I've been through Clomid 6x" guess just from your signature and this is that you had a cyst leftover from Clomid last cycle, didn't know it because you didn't have a baseline, and triggered based on it.
