Hi all, I'm looking for a cool inexpensive party spot. I was thinking the running through the crown fountainwith the faces at Millinieum would be super cute. We have never been and we could make it into a picnic and just bring balloons and everyone brings their picnic stuff. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work? We are taking the Metra down so it will be a for real "Chicago" experience. Any feedback is helpful.
Re: Chicago Mommies, I need input!
When would this be happening and would you be inviting friends, family, etc.? I personally would not do it as that area can be super busy even on a weekday, but I wouldn't even go near it on a weekend.
I'd also rather not have such an undesignated space for a party. What if you get there and there's not enough room so everyone is spread out? Too many variables out of your control. Also, you're asking people to bring their own food and drinks to what is essentially still a birthday party where they will also be bringing a gift?
i've never been there believe it or not and i do live in the city. like the PP said, i'd stay away from something like that for a "party" b/c ... well, who knows? i could see going there as a small family but meeting up with people bringing their own stuff sounds ... tricky.
there are tons of parks in the city where you could do something like that, just not so sure about downtown.
