Okay, so I am just starting to research cloth diapers ... so maybe this is a dumb question...
I took a babysitters course way back when I was 12 years old and they taught us how to put on cloth diapers. Of course, cloth diapers were more basic then. I remember they said that the baby should wear rubber pants if cloth diapering.
It looks like they have come a long way since the 90s, and they look a lot easier to use. So are the rubber pants still necessary? Should I expect cloth diapers to leak more than the disposables?
Re: Do you need rubber pants?
No need for rubber pants. CDs have indeed come a long way.
And no, you should not expect cloth to leak more than disposables if the diapers fit and were prepped properly.
My LO is not quite 3 months old and I can count on one hand the times we've had containment issues with a cloth diaper. All were due to either poor fit (had her in a OS before she was big enough) or installation error (not fastened tight enough). On the other hand, every single day we've had her in disposables I've had to deal with at least one poop-splosion.
