DS1 (will be 6 in June) is increasingly asking for computer time to go online and play games. He has computers one day a week in kindergarten, so that has introduced him to starfall.com and abcya.com. He usually asks to play online after he gets home from school, and likes pbskids.com and disneyjunior.com and cartoonnetwork.com. I let him play for about 20 minutes at a time.
How often does your 5/6 year old go online? What web sites do they like? How do you feel about letting them play online?
Re: How often does your 5/6 y.o. go online?
Almost daily for the last 2 years. We like the same websites as you as well as nickjr and the cartoon network.
3 boys (15, 8, 6), 1 girl (4)
Online about 2x/week. I try to limit it to about 30 mins at a time. She visits the same sites you mentioned including LeapWorld.
She does get to choose either one tv program, leapster game or computer time once a day. I find any more than that she gets so crabby after playing/watching.

This is us too. I find that DS gets super-frustrated sometimes using the computer, so I don't like offering it as a choice for his screen time. This is partly selfish because his TV time is usually my unwinding or making dinner time, neither of which I can do if he needs me to hover over him and help him make popups go away or find the screen when he accidentally clicks away.
About 1 time very week or two. She does have an iPod that she loves to listen and dance to music with and uses that about 3-4 days a week for about an hour.
DD 1/29/07 -
Never. She plays games on the iPad occasionally, but they are apps.
They don't even use the internet in kinder. She uses a computer daily, but not the net.
