anyone ever take lo loestrin?

My Dr. prescribed me lo loestrin as birth control, but I've been reading reviews on it and they aren't the greatest.  Women are saying they became depressed and really moody and many other side effects.  I was on the pill before pregnancy, but never this brand, and I never had any issuses with it.  Anyone have any thoughts on it?

I got this from my OB too. I read the side effects, but that sounds normal for just about almost all birth control pills. My OB wanted me to get IUD but those are scary looking and I read that the Mirena gives off the same side effects as birth control pills do.

The best that I can say is that everyone is different when it comes to side effects. My sister and I took the same birth control once and I bloated and gained weight like crazy while she didn't. I haven't started my pills yet so I'm curious too to see everyone elses responses.

This is what my doctor gave me. I had previously taken Yaz and liked it okay except I had no sex drive. He prescribed the lo loestrin because it is supposed to have less libido issues. I have been taking it for a month and haven't noticed any negative side effects. Definitely haven't noticed any depression or mood swings. Good luck!

I took it for two years with no issue (until I got pregnant while on it).I went back on it briefly after I had DD but I had constant breakthrough bleeding and gave it up.

Thanks ladies. I'm still undecided if I'm going to take these, but worse case scenario I'll just stoptaking if I get any crazy side effects.

I took it for about a year.  While each person is different, I will say I wasn't a fan of it.   I was very irritable on it and suffered from pretty bad migraines.  The hormones intensified my pre-existing migraines and made them more frequent.  I also think it was on the expensive side.

I kind of hated it. I gained about 10 lbs within a couple months of starting it. There were several months I started spotting up to a week before my period was due to start too.
