Moving all over in crib...

When does this stop?!  Every time I go in to get DD during the night or in the morning she is in some weird new position.  She may be sideways in the crib, on her belly staring up at me facing the wrong way, sideways with her feet through the crib slats.  Last night she was in a V-shape with her feet above her head through the slats in the top of the crib.  She's not hurting herself, I'm just pretty sure she's not as comfortable and as eager to sleep in these positions as she would be if she didn't have half her body in some contortionist pose.

Does this end?  Anyone else's LO do this?

Re: Moving all over in crib...

  • My LO is ALL over the place in his crib.  He's been doing it (somehow) before he could even crawl.  We move him a million times a night, because he looks so uncomfortable with his poor head against the side of the crib.

I'm guessing it doesn't stop.  My nieces are 3 and 6 and they are all over the place in their beds now.

  • Why are you concerned? They can move themselves out of the position if they're uncomfortable. DD is all over the place in her crib. I only move her if she's crying- usually a leg stuck in the crib or something like that.

This.  We only move her if she has a hand or foot through the slats or about to go through the slats.  Or if she has her leg or arm up in the air against the side of the crib, we move it down so she doesn't wake up with pins and needles.

DD has always had this plush sunshine toy with wind chime sort of things hanging off of it hanging on the outside of her crib since before she was born.  The past week or so, she's been scooting herself over to that part of the crib and playing with it when she can't sleep.  So we hear all this ringing in the middle of the night.  Guess it's time to take that down . . .

    Just curious.

  • yep my son does this. When he is asleep we go check on him to see what position he got himself in. We moved his arm or leg back in but he puts in right back there so we don't move body parts unless he is in a riding the slats position.

Ditto, why the concern?  Do you think your LO will get injured?  DD, at 2.5 y/o still moves all over her bed.  It's no big deal.
