S/ o body. Umbilical hernia

If you went to the dr for this did they say it was medically necessary to have it fixed? I'm pretty sure I'm herniated but if it's not causing issues I'd rather ignore it.

    I had an epigastric hernia after the babies.  I got mine fixed because it was painful-but everybody told me it was my choice whether to get it fixed or not.

    Both my kids have umbilical and they said it's not something they usually fix. My daughter has an inguinal hernia. Which does need repair because her ovary and intestines are coming out of it and blood supply could be taken if it stays out. We are having the surgery this Thurs...
