how did LO1 react when LO2 was born?

my DD seemed to be ok when we brought DD2 home from the hospital.  we are now 4 weeks out, and she is such a crazy cranky pants all day long!  i'm not sure if she is mad that mommy is spending time with the baby and not her, or if DD2 crying at night for feedings is keeping DD1 from getting a restful night's sleep.  all i know is that i can't take the constant whining anymore!

any advice?

My DD did this!! It was to the point where I was starting to resent her slightly because I couldn't bond with my newborn. I *think* it stopped around 4-6 weeks but I can't remember. All that matters is it WILL get better, obviously since I've forgotten already and DD is clearly "normal" again.

DS did a lot better than we thought he would. What helped was that my mom came the day after DD was born and stayed with us for three weeks. She spoiled DS with toys and outings. We think that DS thought DD came with Grandma, but by the time she left, he was used to his sister. They are now the best of friends.

advice: sound machine and sit on the floor while you feed LO2 & spend as much time w/ LO1 as possible now. Then they forget what life was like w/ out LO2 and you can be more balanced.

My son was pretty cool w/ it. At the toddler age they are cranky on and off so it may or may not be related. I think he was more freaked by me disappearing for 4 days because I had a c-section.

He was jealous the first few days and then ignored her for several months.
