I was posting something on the Baby Names board a few minutes ago, and it got me thinking.  Oftentimes people refer to their children as "offspring". 

Now, would you consider that term applicable only to bio kids, or are adopted children also offspring?  Hmmm....

I'd never call her offspring anyway, but stuff like this typically never occurs to me--LOL

Hmmmm..... I can't imagine using the term regardless except in a joking way.. but I get that I am less likely since my "offspring" are adopted

I don't think I would use that term on a normal basis, maybe more when joking.

Oh, I'd probably use "offspring," if I'm feeling extra-specially biblical one day. I suppose I wouldn't use "seed," but that one's a little graphic anyway.

I was talking with DH about this and said "man, now we can't call our kids the "fruit of our loins".

Actually, I made it a Gilmore Girls reference and lamented that we couldn't call them our "loinfruit", but same thing.
