We are still appealing some of DS's NICU bills that insurance won't pay since the doctors were not in-network. It's such a slow process....The insurance company always acts like they are working on it, but we can't get any straightforward answers, not to mention someone who actually knows that they are talking about.
DS was put on both of our insurance policies when he was born, but mine was cancelled Jan. 1 because we all got on DH's. Mine was the primary for him for the month of December but nothing should have been submitted to mine after the end of the month. For some reason, the doctors and insurance companies can't figure this out and keep submitting to the wrong place when we've told them what's up countless times.
Yesterday DH called a medical supply company about LO's apnea monitor that he had for 6 weeks. They are trying to charge us for the entire month of January, even though we only had it for 2 weeks. Also, the weeks in January we did have it was THEIR fault. I called 3 times for them to come download the data and get it to the doctor. The doctor said she needed 4 weeks worth of data and they didn't come until the middle of the 6th week. It's so frustrating! DH argued that if they are going to charge us for their slowness, at least prorate the bill for the days we actually used it and don't charge us for the entire freaking month.
Sorry, just needed to vent.
Re: anyone still dealing with insurance?
We're still sorting some insurance stuff out. Major PITA.
Work HR didn't get the correct information submitted (even though I provided it) to the IP, so they weren't going to cover ANY of C's hospital stay. We had to figure out what was wrong with the policy, resubmit everything and then wait for approval on those submission, get payment extensions.... it was a royal mess.
I think we finally are reaching the conclusion of HR's f*ck up. I'm sick of sitting on hold with the IP over and over again!

We are still arguing over DD teeth removal, is it dental or medical? I did add her to my dental just for this case because she was 2 weeks old when they pulled them. No one wants to cover the cost to get the pulled even though it was medically necessary according to her pedi and the dentist. Each company says it is the others responsibility. URGH!! Silly prenatal teeth!!
I spent the entire month of Feb arguing with HR about my STD, and getting onto my DH insurance plan.
