Here are the details:

Retrieved 13 eggs of 13 follicles.

11 were mature and 11 fertilized.

Transferred a blast and early blast on day 5.

We ended up with only 2 frosties. 

I just thought we would have more frosties.  Not that I am not happy with this, I am just surprised we didn't have more given the initial fert report.  The math doesn't exactly add up in my favor, does it?  Or, is the 2ww getting the best of my optimism?

I had a pretty similar number this cycle (14 were mature but only 11 fertilized in my case).  I did a 3dt of two embies and ended up with six *day 3* frosties.  My previous RE always said that you can expect about 1/3 of your good embies on day three to be good blasts on day 5.  So with that rule of thumb, based on what happened in my cycle, 2 would be just about right for you!

The 2ww does crazy things to a perfectly normal person.  Seriously.  One minute, I am optimistic about the current cycle and my two frosties and then, two minutes later...I am literally welling up certain the cycle did not work and feeling shameful for not appreciated my two blasts on ice.  Please someone timewarp me to a BFP!

I think it sounds great  and the 2WW is probably getting the best of you!  You are lucky to have any frosties!

My 1st cycle we had 11 retrieved, 8 mature and fertilized and had no frosties.

My 2nd cycle we had 23 retrieved, all mature and fertilized and no frosties.....those numbers relly don't add up!

We have never had any be good enough to meet the freeze criteria, so if I were you be thrilled with two.

Ive had similar stats on 2 of my 1vf cycles, and only ever got one frostie.  U have to expect zero frosties.  That's how the math adds up, that u end up with none....

They are the icing on the cake, and to end up w 4 blasts of 11 fert is FAR better than average.

Thank you for the encouragement. Turns out, my clinic had a communication error. I have one frostie, but I am still very thankful for the one. This 2ww is a killer and my emotions are a freakin roller coaster. Not a pretty sight.

I had 19/26 mature fertilize and only 6 make it to freeze/ transfer.  I am rooti hard for you lady!!

I have done 3 IVFs and never had anything make it to day 5 so no frosties or even a chance of them. I am sure the best ones are in you and just be glad you have 2.

Sending many pennies to each of you who chimed in and eased my mind! I have one beautiful frostie and for that I am grateful. I like the idea as mentioned that frosties are a bonus. Not an expectation. Thanks again!

Hi.  Just wanted to let you know that your odds are really great.  Day 5 transfers have much better odds than 3 day transfers.  I got pregnant with my very first IVF and I only had one embryo transferred as well.

I tested everyday from day 3 after transfer and got my bfp on day 5.

I wouldn't let it get you down. Having any embies left to freeze is great!

I was really bummed that we didn't get any frozen after our cycle. I had 24 eggs retrieved, 19 were mature, 9 fertilized, and only 2 made it to blast. We transferred the two blasts and had none left to freeze. Luckily the two we transferred stuck.

My numbers were about the same as you.  I think one is still great at freeze!  Hang in there, the 2ww makes us very doubtful at times.
